(بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم، والصلاة والسلام على حبيبنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى من اتبع صراطه المستقيم.) In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and upon all those who follow his righteous path.
Dear Readers,
(السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته.) May Peace, Mercy, and Blessings of Allah be upon you.
On this holy Easter Sunday, let us dive deep into the amazing event that changed the course of human history. Easter is a deeply significant day for Christians, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus. Nearly two millennia ago, on this day, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to atone for the sins of mankind, rose from the dead, triumphing over death.
The darkness of Friday, when he was crucified, was transformed into the light of Sunday, symbolizing light after darkness, hope after sorrow, and life after death. Christian theologians say this proves that victory over death is possible, and that God’s plan for every believer includes new life.
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. According to Christian belief, Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and three days later, on Easter Sunday, he rose from the dead, symbolizing hope, forgiveness, and eternal life. This event is one of the most important foundations of Christianity, which is considered a symbol of new life, hope, and salvation. This resurrection is considered a sign of the redemption of mankind from sin and proof of God's glory.
🌙 Jesus (pbuh) in Islam:
The Quran and Hadith describe the special aspects of the life of Jesus (pbuh), where he is known as a servant and prophet of God. The Quran states that he was born miraculously, showed people the way to God, and won hearts with kindness and mercy.
📖 The Quran says:
“They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it seemed to them. Rather, God took him to Himself.” (Surah An-Nisa, 4:157-158). According to Islam, Jesus (PBUH) did not die. Rather, Allah raised him to heaven and he will come again before the Day of Judgment — to establish justice.
The Hadith also teaches patience, sacrifice, and submission to the will of Allah, which was the main theme of Jesus’ life. His selfless love and steadfastness in faith even through suffering is a great example for us.
And, the Muslim scholar Ibn Kathir (RA) said: “The plots of the enemies of those whom Allah wants to save never succeed.”
🌙 Christian Scholars’ Viewpoint:
Christian scholars see Easter as a festival of God’s love and mercy. The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus symbolize God’s ultimate sacrifice and redemption for the sins of mankind. As Christian scholars say, “Through Jesus’ death we are freed from sin, and his resurrection brings new hope and the light of life into our lives.” Christian scholar C.S. Lewis said: “Easter is death working backwards.”
🌙 Wise Words and Advice:
- “He who believes in death finds the true meaning of life.”
- “Walking in the path of light means defeating darkness.”
- “Love and mercy are the language of God, which Jesus taught us.”
- “The resurrection of Jesus is a symbol of God’s blessing on humanity.”
- “True faith is leading one’s soul to the light.”
Easter teaches us that life is not always the last word. After sorrow and despair comes the light of a new day. As there is a beautiful saying, “After the storm comes the rainbow.” The resurrection of Jesus promises us that rainbow – the victory of life over sin and death. The light of hope always shines.
Let us all celebrate the love that Jesus brought for us. Let us carry the message of His sacrifice and resurrection in our hearts and spread that light to others. Let us sing the song of victory that defeats death and proclaims the victory of life.
📌 A prayer and wish for this day:
“O Allah, enlighten our hearts with truth and light. Guide us to the path of mercy and justice, as Jesus (peace be upon him) did.” (اللهم أنر قلوبنا بالحق والنور، واحدنا إلى طريق الرحمة والعدل، كما حدانا سيدنا إيسع عليه السلام).
